An Introductory Workshop to the Tools
of Six Sigma In the economically
challenging business environment of 2008, organizations large and
small, public and private are deeply concerned about improving
operational performance that affects the bottom line.
Being more efficient and effective in defining, analyzing,
monitoring, and improving workflow and work processes is becoming a
critical requirement for survival. This new introductory workshop
will focus on the fundamentals of Business Process Reengineering
through review and exploration of the basic tools and techniques
required to reach “sixth sigma”– a
comprehensive systematic process used by many organizations
worldwide to create bottom-line driven continuous performance
improvement in workplace activities.
This workshop is intended for managers who have direct
responsibility for managing workflow, work processes, and improving
operational performance.
This workshop is also good for any manager who desires to improve
operational efficiency and effectiveness in any area of
responsibility.
During this workshop, participants will learn the basic tools
necessary for continuous business process improvement through
analysis of workflow, work activities, and work processes. Although
not a workshop specifically on “Six Sigma”, participants will be
introduced to the basic concepts, tools, and techniques used to
reach “sixth sigma”. A major portion of this workshop will focus on
process reengineering by targeting and analyzing existing work
processes through interactive discovery and analysis of the
following:
• Brainstorming Opportunities for Process Improvements.
• Introduction to Process Reengineering Steps and Tools.
• Introduction to Process Mapping.
• Process Analysis & Design.
• Building Process Optimization Profiles (SIPOC).
• Conducting A Process GAP Analysis.
• Closing Process Performance Gaps.
• Conducting A Cost, Benefit, and Risk Analysis.
• Understanding the Voice of the Customer.
This workshop is an exceptional opportunity for management to learn
specific tools and techniques of process optimization by
understanding specific “Six Sigma” concepts necessary to target and
improve operational performance.
