Why do we have a separate Legal Hotline?
EAF responds to over 500 calls per month on various Human Resources issues. Increasingly, these calls are of a legal and technical nature. Due to the increasing litigation challenges faced by employers, the Association has expanded its Human Resources Hotline to offer a separate legal hotline covering not only labor and employment law, but workers' compensation and immigration, as well. This service will now afford members attorney client privilege protections when discussing the situation or problem.
How it works...
Members will call in to the HR Hotline at 407.260.6556, if your response requires a legal explanation, the call will be routed to the appropriate firm as follows:
What Labor/Employment inquiries would be sent to Ford & Harrison LLP for a response?
Adverse employment decisions related to:Legal Interpretations:
What Immigration inquiries would be sent to Ford & Harrison LLP for a response?
What Workers' Compensation inquiries would be sent to Hurley, Rogner, Miller, Cox, Waranch & Westcott P.A. for a response?
Additional services such as actual review of documents, drafting of policy/procedures or actual representation would be available through the law firms, if requested, at appropriate legal fees.
The hiring of an attorney is an important decision that should not be based solely on the promotion of this free EAF member service. Before you make the decision to utilize an attorney for any additional fee-based service, ask the firm to send you free written information detailing the attorney's qualifications and experience.
